The Barber of Seville
The Barber of Seville Rockdale Opera's brand new, never seen before, production of Mr Gioachino Rosinni's 'The Barber of Seville is not to be missed. Under the Direction of Mr Paul Williamson and showcasing some of Australia's new and brightest young Opera talent. Mr Williamson is hoping to eclipse the success of his La Traviata of 2009 with this new and entertaining production of 'The Barber', as it is affectionately called, in 2010.
Mr Williamson believes that he has in his cast some quite extraordinary, very, very talented singers including, Anna Yunn as Rosina, Josh Cohen as Count Alma-viva and the Mr John Donohoe as The Barber, who are sure to delight your ears and with a touch of typical Operatic plot magic, make you laugh. This fun light and happy Opera with some beautifully written and devilishly cleaver close harmony vocal music and some stunning Rossini orchestral music, all this at just over ten percent of the cost of a ticket to the Opera house.

Orchestra Romantique Debut Performance
The musical director of Orchestra Romantique is Australia's brightest
young conductor, Nicholas Carter, currently assistant to Vladimir
Ashkenazy at the Sydney Symphony. The orchestra will be a unique addition
to the Sydney and NSW regional cultural scene in two major ways:
Orchestra Romantique is Australia's first and only orchestra dedicated to the performance
of Romantic-era works. The orchestra will perform in community venues, at a child-friendly
hour.
Orchestra Romantique comprises some of Australia's leading professional
musicians, drawn from the Sydney Symphony and the Australian Opera and
Ballet Orchestra.
The inaugural performance will feature world-renowned oboist, Diana Doherty, in a program
which includes Rietz's Concertpiece for Oboe and Orchestra, Beethoven's
Coriolan Overture and his Symphony no 3, ‘Eroica’.

All proceeds from this special Fundraising Concert will go towards Adam and Jonathan's tuition fees and living expenses, as they both take up a Masters of Music in Opera and Vocal Studies at the Royal Northern College of Music.
