Youth Development
2MBS-FM actively supports Australia's young performers and composers through a variety of annual initiatives open to musicians fro mage four to thirty Some of the programs offer cash prizes, live-to-air broadcasts or a performance by the prestigious Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.

2009 YPA finals
On 19 October the final of the 2009 2MBS-FM Young Performers Award was held at the 2MBS-FM Studios in St Leonards. The six young musicians performed a number of works for the adjudication panel. We would like to congratulate soprano Emma Moore who was named as the 2009 2MBS-FM Young Performer. The Adjudicators' Encouragement Award went to flautist Rosie Gallgher and violinist Ji Won Kim. We would also like the congratulate all of the other young performers who have participated in the 2009 YPA broadcasts.
