Youth Development
2MBS-FM actively supports Australia's young performers and composers through a variety of annual initiatives open to musicians from age four to thirty. Some of the programs offer cash prizes, live-to-air broadcasts or a performance by the prestigious Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.

National MBS Young Performers Award – Finals
The National Finals of the MBS Young Performers Award was held on Sunday 27 November in the Italian Forum Cultural Centre, Leichhardt and featured four outstanding performances. This year's $10,000 first prize was won by violinist Anna Lisa Da Silva Chen, the other finalists; pianist Ben Austin (QLD), flautist Anna Cooper (SA) and pianist Margaret Kong (VIC), each received $500 encouragement awards. We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the 2MBS-FM Youth Development projects this year, both in front and behind the microphone.
The afternoon also featured a recital by harpist Georgia Lowe.
